MultiTerminal

LAST UPDATED OCTOBER 2, 2026

Your work stays yours.

MultiTerminal is developed by Ali Alnoaimi. The app has no analytics, advertising, account system, or cloud sync. Workspace contents are not uploaded to the developer. Direct-download builds contact an update server as described below.

What the app stores

Workspace names, pane types, preview file paths, browser URLs, split positions and percentage sizes, tab order and selection, starting folders, open workspace identifiers, and themes are saved locally. File bookmarks and sandbox folder permissions are also stored. Workspace settings do not include terminal output or command history.

Browser panes store cookies, website storage, caches, and logins in a separate local WebKit profile for each workspace. Closing a workspace retains its profile; deleting it removes the profile. File previews use separate temporary web storage, read selected files, and refresh after external edits without modifying them. Your shell and tools may separately save history, logs, credentials, and configuration.

Tools you run

Tools you run may read or write files and contact external services under their own permissions and privacy policies. AI CLI providers may receive prompts or project data. Sites opened in browser panes receive ordinary browser requests and anything you submit. HTML previews can run page JavaScript and load remote resources; Markdown disables scripts but can load remote images. Browser URLs, including query parameters, are saved locally.

Software updates

The direct-download build uses Sparkle to check for and download signed updates from https://the-ghost.com/assets/multiterminal/updates/appcast.xml. Automatic checks require permission; change checks and automatic downloads in Settings, or check manually from the MultiTerminal menu. System profiling is disabled. Requests identify the app version and may identify the macOS version through ordinary HTTP headers. The server and hosting provider receive your IP address and may keep ordinary access logs. The updater does not send workspace names, paths, terminal output, project files, prompts, or browser history. App Store builds do not include Sparkle and use Apple’s update system instead.

Website and support

This website uses no analytics scripts or advertising cookies. If you choose to join a release notification list, we collect your email address, selected operating system, language, and consent through Netlify Forms. We use this information only to notify you when MultiTerminal is available for your selected platform. To leave the list or request deletion of your signup information, contact [email protected]. Our hosting provider, Netlify, may process ordinary request data such as IP addresses and access logs to deliver and secure the website. Its privacy policy describes that processing.

If you email support, we receive the information you choose to share and use it to respond and resolve your request. Remove credentials, private paths, confidential terminal output, and other sensitive information before sending attachments.

Deleting local settings

With the app closed, remove ~/Library/Application Support/MultiTerminal/workspaces.json to reset direct-build workspace settings. In sandboxed builds, the file is inside ~/Library/Containers/ac.multiterminal/Data/Library/Application Support/MultiTerminal/. To remove a workspace’s browser profile, delete that workspace in the app before resetting settings. Project files and data stored by your tools are not deleted.
